Columbus man reports being beaten and robbed Sunday

A 45-year-old Columbus man has reported to police that he was beaten and robbed early Sunday morning.

According tor the police report, the incident happened around 1:15 a.m. at the intersection of 2nd Avenue and 23rd Street.

The report says the man was struck several times in the face with a fist and was robbed of about $60. He suffered swelling above his left eye and right cheek.

The man took himself to The Medical Center.

Two black males in their 20s are suspects. One with a thin build and short dreadlocks struck the man after demanding money.

According to the report, the two fled on foot following the robbery.
