The Sports NetworkJuly 24, 2013

The Atlanta Falcons on Wednesday signed cornerback Desmond Trufant, the team's first-round draft pick.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

The Falcons selected Trufant with the 22nd overall pick in April's draft. They traded their third-round and sixth-round picks to the Rams in exchange for the selection.

Trufant started in 47 of 50 games at the University of Washington, posting 195 tackles, a school-record 39 passes defensed and six interceptions.

Last season, he had 36 tackles, nine passes defensed and one interception, earning first-team All-Pac 12 honors and helping the Huskies rank second in the Pac-12 and 23rd in the nation in pass defense.

In addition, the Falcons signed quarterback Sean Renfree.

The 6-foot-5 Renfree was selected with the third of the Falcons' three seventh-round draft picks (249th overall).

Renfree completed 64.7 percent of his passes for 9,465 yards with 51 touchdowns and 40 interceptions in four seasons at Duke.

With both of their signings, the Falcons have all of their draft picks under contract.
