Man arrested for marijuana possession, loitering near 'No Loitering' sign

A man was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana Wednesday after police stopped him for loitering near a 'No Loitering' sign, according to a Columbus Police report.

Johnny Mays, 39, was approached by officers at about 12:20 p.m. while he was standing next to a 'No Loitering' sign in front of Kap's Market on Fort Benning Road. After police placed him in custody for loitering, they found an unspecified amount of marijuana in Mays' possession.

Mays was charged with possession of marijuana, possession of drug related objects and loitering. He was taken to Muscogee County Jail.
