AAFES looking to hire 95 people for food-service jobs

July 25, 2013

The Army and Air Force Exchange Service (AAFES) could use more than a few good men and women.

The agency, part of the U.S. Department of Defense, will be seeking to fill 95 food-service positions at a recruitment event Wednesday at the Georgia Department of Labor’s Columbus Career Center.

Prospects should show up between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m. at the career center, 700 Veterans Parkway. They can also apply online at www.applymyexchange.com.

No experience is required for the part-time, temporary and intermittent food-service positions. However, applicants must pass a National Restaurant Association Safe Serve course, which covers the preparation and serving of food in a clean and safe manner.

The labor department said salaries start at $7.77 per hour, with staffers required to work weekends and holidays if necessary.

For more information, call the career center at 706-649-7423.
