Man reports being shot during carjacking

A 34-year-old Columbus man told police he was shot during a carjacking Sunday.

According to the police report, the incident happened between 12:10 a.m. and 12:18 a.m. in the area of Gateway Road and Billings Road.

The vehicle taken was a 2001 Jeep Wrangler with an estimated value of $2,000. It is blue with a soft top.

The victim told police he was robbed by two black males. One of them shot him in the right leg with a pistol.

The two then drove off in the vehicle.

The victim was unable at that time to give police the license plate number.

The victim was transported to The Medical Center where he was treated for his wound. He was listed in stable condition.
