Man snatches 62-year-old woman's purse near Miracle Deliverance Church

A 62-year-old woman reported Sunday that a man snatched her purse while she was near Miracle Deliverance Church, according to a Columbus Police report.

The woman told police that she was at the church on Pecan Street at about 10:10 a.m. when a man snatched her purse and ran toward Sampson Avenue. Among the stolen items was a Nook and the victim's wallet. The total value of the stolen goods was estimated at $468.

The victim described the suspect as a 30- to 40-year-old black man with a medium complexion, medium build and average height. He was wearing a navy blue T-shirt and dark blue pants at the time of the incident.
