Armor School commandant named at Fort Benning

A new commandant has been named for the U.S. Armor School at the Maneuver Center of Excellence at Fort Benning.

A public affairs spokeswoman said Col. Leopoldo A. Quintas will be the 47th chief of Armor. Quintas, who has been nominated for promotion to brigadier general, assumes command in September.

Quintas is a 1986 graduate of the U.S. Military Academy at West Point. He has served in Operations Desert Storm, Desert Shield and also in Iraq and Afghanistan.

He is married to wife Lori and they have two children.
