Opelika teen killed in three-car collision

OPELIKA, Ala. — An Opelika 17-year-old was killed Monday evening during a three-vehicle crash eight miles east of the city, according to a press release from the Alabama Department of Public Safety.

Andrew David Pugh, 17, was driving on Lee County 270 at about 5:55 p.m. when his 2000 Dodge Dakota collided with a 2012 Chevrolet Silverado. His vehicle then hit a 2006 Dodge Stratus.

The driver of the Chevy Silverado was transported a local hospital for treatment of his injuries. The third driver was not injured.

Further details about the crash or the cause of death for Pugh were unavailable Tuesday morning.
