Man arrested for cocaine possession near Second Avenue

A man was arrested and charged with cocaine possession Thursday after he was stopped for having an expired tag, according to a Columbus Police report.

Police stopped Oscar Williams at the intersection of 15th Street and Second Avenue at 3 p.m. after he was seen driving his 1993 Ford Explorer with an expired tag.

During a search of Williams' person, it was discovered that he had cocaine in his possession. He was charged with possession of cocaine and no state tag. He was also charged with no proof of insurance and driving while license suspended.

Williams was taken to Muscogee County Jail.
