Police arrest man for choking wife

A man was arrested and charged with family violence aggravated assault Thursday after he strangled his wife, according to a Columbus Police report.

Officers responded to a residence on the 5900 block of Ventura Drive at about 11:15 p.m. after receiving reports of a dispute. When they arrived, the 44-year-old victim told police that Nick Kelley, 45, dragged her to the ground and strangled her in the living room. She had bruises to the left side of her neck.

Kelley was arrested and charged with aggravated assault. He was taken to Muscogee County Jail.
