High school roundup: Columbus softball shuts out Carrollton

CARROLLTON, Ga. -- Mary Catherine Smith went seven innings, giving up no runs and only two hits with seven strikeouts and no walks, leading Columbus to the 4-0 Region 5-AAAA win on Thursday.

Columbus needed a big fourth inning on offense to secure the victory, with two RBIs from Lexie Stohr and one each from Raleigh Williams and Kayla Brena.Thursday at Carrollton
