Masked man attempts to rob Manchester Expressway McDonald's

Employees at a Manchester Expressway McDonald's were held at gunpoint Thursday during an attempted robbery, according to a Columbus Police report.

Workers told police a partially masked man approached them with a pistol when they arrived at the business, located at 1436 Manchester Expressway, at about 3:45 a.m. He forced them inside and demanded money.

The suspect did not acquire any items while attempting to rob the business. The report also gave no indication on how quickly the robber left or how long he had been gone when police arrived at 3:55 a.m.

No description of the suspect was available. Anyone with more information should call the Investigations Division at 706-653-3400.

A Ronald McDonald statue was stolen from the playground of the same McDonald's in 2009. Reports indicated that the statue was not recovered.
