Prep softball roundup: Cotton leads Harris County to win

ZEBULON, Ga. -- Kayla Cotton allowed just three hits and struck out three over seven innings to lead Harris County to a 6-1 win over Pike County Wednesday.

Cotton (5-3) and Sara Kate Jenkins both went 3-for-4 with a double and homer. Jenkins drove in three runs in the win.

Harris County travels to Canton, Ga., Friday to play in the Cherokee County Invitational. They play White County at 4:30 p.m. and Creekview at 6:30 p.m.Wednesday at Zebulon, Ga.

TYRONE, Ga. -- Regina Falcon struck out 11 as Shaw beat Sandy Creek in a Region 5-AAAA game.

Falcon and Brianna Simmons collected two hits apiece. Jessica Bunting had a bases-loaded triple.
