Auburn football: Best of the week

AUBURN, Ala. — Now just one day away from Auburn's contest versus Arkansas State, we can look back at the week that was.

As we'll do every Friday for the rest of the season, this will link to the best quotes, stories and videos from Sunday through Thursday. It's obviously an abridged version of the immense number of items produced during the week, but this is supposed to be a short and breezy read, hitting on (what I consider) the highlights.

Left tackle Greg Robinson, on seeing running back Corey Grant score his first career touchdown last Saturday:

"Really, when he broke off to the sideline I was cheering him on. They all knocked him down in the end zone, but he felt good about it and it's good for the hard work to pay off.”

Arkansas State receiver J.D. McKissic on Gus Malzahn's decision to leave for Auburn:

"It’s hard to have to learn another offense again and trying to start to learn things about your position, but it’s a business. You’ve got to be able to move on."

Grant waited a long time for last Saturday to finally arrive butthe Opelika native said the wait was worth it.

McKissic wasn't given a look by any large Division I schools. While he's happy at ARkansas State being passed over by larger schools fuels him, helping him develop into one of the nation's top receivers last season.
