Women's soccer: No. 1 West Florida edges No. 13 CSU women 3-2 in overtime

SAVANNAH, Ga. -- Freyja Vidarsdottir chipped in a goal at the buzzer in overtime to lead No. 1 University of West Florida over the No. 13 Lady Cougars 3-2 on Friday.

West Florida got on the board first with a goal from Sara Helgadottir at 24:51 of the first half. Columbus State tied the match at 40:51 on a goal by Tori Hood, who got an assist from Mandy Janowitz.

Shea Wilby put CSU ahead 2-1 at 57:50 on an unassisted goal from a scramble on a free kick. The top-ranked Argonauts fought back and Chelsea Palmer flicked in a header off a free kick at 69:13 to tie the match and force overtime.

Vidarsdottir got the winner just before time expired in the 10-minute overtime.Friday at Savannah, Ga.
