A man accused of repeatedly circling the parking lot Friday at the South Columbus Branch Library was charged with stalking a 28-year-old woman at the building, police said.

Timothy Flint, 22, was taken into custody about 11:30 a.m. at his home on Paddy Avenue. He was released on $2,500 bond from the Muscogee County Jail.

The victim said Flint pulled into the library parking lot at 2034 S. Lumpkin Road and demanded that she talk to her ex-boyfriend. After screaming for him to leave, the woman said Flint continued circling the parking lot trying to get her attention.

Over the last several weeks, the woman told police that Flint has followed and harassed her. He has called her phone and tried to contact her despite warnings from police to leave the woman alone.

In a statement to police, Flint admitted seeing the woman walk to the library, a routine she usually does every day to use the computer. He also said he tried to talk to the woman, but it was non threatening.
