Carver's Mekhi Brown has accepted an invitation to the Army All-American game, the junior defensive end/linebacker announced via text this week.

Brown, a five-star prospect on who has already committed to Alabama, will follow in the footsteps of former Carver star Jarvis Jones, who played in the game in 2009.

The 6-foot-5, 230-pound Brown is one of only 10 juniors to receive a fifth star on and is rated the 35th best prospect in the nation on ESPN's Junior 300.

Brown also received an invitation to the Under Armour All-American game, but said he had decided on the Army game instead.

The game will be played in January 2015, Brown's senior year at Carver.

Brown recorded 37 total tackles, four sacks, 19 quarterback pressures and two forced fumbles as a sophomore in 2012.
