Device found near Chattahoochee Riverwalk

A suspicious device was discovered Friday at the entrance of the Chattahoochee Riverwalk on First Avenue at 35th Street, Columbus police said.

The device was discovered by a crew doing work in the area for Georgia Power Co. about 6:15 a.m. The device wasn’t identified but it was turned over to a response team.

In a report, police said the case remains under investigation.
