Report: Jets' Sanchez may have torn labrum

The Sports NetworkSeptember 8, 2013

A recent MRI on the injured shoulder of New York Jets quarterback Mark Sanchez appears to show a partial labrum tear.

A source reported the news to ESPN, and that Sanchez is expected to seek a second opinion from renowned surgeon Dr. James Andrews later this week.

The Jets have been mum regarding the maligned quarterback's situation ever since he was inserted into the fourth quarter of a preseason contest against the New York Giants.

Sanchez was injured behind a group of backup offensive lineman, left the game in a sling and New York refrained from naming a starting quarterback until this past Wednesday, when rookie Geno Smith was anointed.
