Tyrie Sanders

A man begging for money from passerby was arrested Sunday at a Fifth Street Fuel Tech, when police discovered he was carrying a gun unlicensed, according to a Columbus Police report.

An officer approached Tyrie Sanders, 18, at about 1 p.m. after he was spotted standing near the business in tan shorts with no shirt. Sanders told police he was asking people or money at the gas station, located at 314 Fifth Street.

Police took Sanders in custody. After searching him, they found a black 0.38 in his front right pocket. The gun was loaded with five rounds. Another bullet was found in his pocket.

Sanders was charged with carrying a gun without a license and taken to Muscogee County Jail.
