Mayor Teresa Tomlinson will host the third of this year’s quarterly public forums Thursday at the Springer Opera House.

The forums, known as “Let’s Talk with the Mayor,” are held four times a year and sponsored by community groups. The aim, according to a release from the mayor’s office, is to “provide a current status of the city, as well as provide an opportunity for citizens to come together and discuss their concerns.”

Thursday’s forum, scheduled to run from 6-7:30 p.m., is being sponsored by Uptown Columbus.

Previous forums this year were held at Brookstone School and Liberty Baptist Church. All of the previous forums, which Tomlinson has held since taking office, except one held at Brookstone School earlier this year, have drawn more than 100 residents.

The forums feature the mayor, City Manager Isaiah Hugley, Deputy City Managers David Arrington and Lisa Goodwin and most, if not all, city department heads on hand to answer residents’ questions.

This year’s final forum is scheduled for Dec. 12 at Solid Rock Assembly of God, 6949 Warm Springs Road, sponsored by the church.
