Report: 'The Dope Boys' rob 74-year-old man, elude officers

Officers are searching for three teenagers identified only as "The Dope Boys" after the suspects allegedly robbed a 74-year-old man of $180, according to a Columbus Police report.

Police noted the victim seemed "very intoxicated," and was difficult to understand because of his quiet speech. He was questioned by police at about 10:30 p.m., Wednesday.

The man reported that three teenagers, who he called "The Dope Boys," ran up to him at his 1500 block 28th Street residence and grabbed his wallet. The wallet contained his ID and $180 in cash.

The victim was did not give any more information about the suspects, other than reporting that they frequent the East Highland neighborhood. Anyone with more information about this incident should call Investigative Services at 706-653-3400.
