Columbus State soccer team hosts tournament starting on Friday

After opening the 2013 season last week in Savannah against the top two-ranked teams in the nation, the Columbus State women's soccer team returns home today to host the CSU Collegiate Invitational.

The Lady Cougars play Tusculum at 7 p.m. today at the Walden Soccer Complex and North Alabama at 3 p.m. Sunday. CSU is 3-3 all time against Tusculum and 2-0-1 against UNA.

Other teams in the CSU Collegiate Invitational include Tampa, Lenoir-Rhyne and Nova Southeastern.

The Cougars lost both of their matches in Savannah, 3-2 in overtime to No. 1 West Florida and 2-0 to No. 2 Grand Valley State.

CSU goalkeeper Meosha Hatcher set a school record in the loss to West Florida with 14 saves.
