Columbus State's soccer team blanks Tusculum

The Columbus State soccer team scored a pair of second-half goals and beat Tusculum 2-0 Friday night at Walden Soccer Complex in the CSU Collegiate Invitational.

Chelsea Person scored the first goal at 51:34 with an assist to Casey Davis.

A free kick went to Person, who scored in the right side of the net.

Tori Hood scored the second goal at 73:34 with an assist by Taylor Marks.

Hood took the ball outside the box and scored in the left side.

The win was CSU's first of the season. The Lady Cougars opened with a pair of losses last weekend to No. 1 West Florida and No. 2 Grand Valley State.

CSU will face North Alabama at 3 p.m. Sunday.
