Report: Cocaine, marijuana found in Starmount Shopping Center storage shed

A 52-year-old homeless man was arrested Sunday after police found a substantial amount of cocaine and marijuana in the Starmount Shopping Center storage shed, according to a Columbus Police report.

After detaining Anthony Sawyer at about 8:20 a.m., officers conducted a search on the store's 4105 Buena Vista Road storage shed. Inside, they found 0.5 grams of suspected cocaine, valued at $50; 7.28 grams of suspected marijuana, valued at $72.80; a red plastic straw commonly used to inhale cocaine and a bag full of smaller plastic baggies.

Sawyer was charged with misdemeanor possession of marijuana, possession of cocaine with intent to sell, crossing the guardline with drugs, loitering and possession of drug related objects. He was taken to Muscogee County Jail.
