A 19-month-old toddler who was taken from a daycare facility Wednesday afternoon was dropped off at a group home about midnight Wednesday, Columbus police said today.

La'Jourra Brantley was dropped off by her 17-year-old mother, Latoya Brantley, at the 20th Street group home where she was staying. The mother doesn't have custody of her daughter who had been taken from a daycare facility sometime between 3 p.m. and 4 p.m. Wednesday.

The mother and the child were in temporary custody and control of the Dougherty County Department of Family and Children Services when the child was taken. It's unknown how Brantley was able to leave the daycare center with the child.

Police are still looking for the mother. Authorities believe that she is still in the area.

Anyone with information on the mother should call the police department at 706-653-3449 or 706-653-3400.
