New Creation 34, Calvary Christian 17: Calvary falls to New Creation in first region game

McDonough, Ga. -- Calvary Christian fell to New Creation 34-17 Friday. New Creation took a 21-3 lead into halftime that it would not give up in the contest.

Place kicker Thoams Chappel kicked a 30-field goal as time expired in the second quarter to put Calvary Christian on the board.

Trey Wiggins scored from 3 yards out in the third quarter, and quarterback Adam Gray found Andrew Walsh on a 7-yard pass in the fourth to account for Calvary's second-half points.

Gray went 9-20 for 187 yards and one touchdown. Dalton Drew was the leading rusher for Calvary with 73 yards on 9 carries. Jacquez Green had 9 carries for 58 yards.

New Creation won 22-20 last season and now leads the series 3-0. The loss puts Calvary at 2-3 on the season and 0-1 in the ICSGA South.Calvary Christian at New CreationCalvary 0 3 7 7--17
