It's rainy outside, but that's not the reason Russel County Sheriff Heath Taylor will get all wet. He's expected to make a big splash at a United Way Fundraiser that begins 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Russell County Sheriff's Office.
Taylor, the 2013 United Way campaign chair, will be among law enforcement officials sitting in a dunking booth to raise money for the campaign. Balls will be $1 each or $5 for six. There will be a $25 fine for manual dunking. Hamburger, hot dog, chips and drink will be on sale for $5. Proceeds will go to United Way.
Here's the lineup for the dunking booth: Chief Ray Smith, Phenix City Police Department, 11 a.m.; Chief William Alexander, Russell County Sheriff's Office, 12 p.m.; Rob Miller, Russell County Investigations, 1 p.m.; Lt. Steve Johnson, Russell County Jail Administrator, 2-5 p.m.; Sheriff Heath Taylor, 5 p..m; Tommy Morrison, Russell County SRO, 6 p.m.
