Log truck overturns near Double Churches, Veterans Parkway

Police are clearing a wreck from the area of Double Churches Road and Veterans Parkway near J.R. Allen Parkway after an 18-wheeler hauling logs overturned Thursday morning.

Officials say no injuries have been reported from the wreck and no other vehicles were involved. The driver of the truck, which has a Georgia tag, appears to be OK and has been seen walking around.

It appears the log truck was traveling south on Veterans Parkway, attempting to turn onto the westbound ramp of J.R. Allen, when it overturned. As of 11:45 a.m., the cleanup was still ongoing.

Near noon Thursday, traffic on Veterans Parkway was running smoothly, but if you're traveling south on Veterans, the left-hand turn ramp to J.R. Allen is not accessible.

On the scene of the wreck is Columbus Fire & EMS Engine 3, some motorcycle officers and patrol cars.
