Carver 31, Pike County 22: Carver wins region opener

ZEBULON, Ga. -- The Carver Tigers (4-1, 1-0 Region 2-AAA) opened region play with a 31-22 win over Pike County on the road.

Dequindre Coleman and Noah Hickey carried the load on the ground for the Tigers, finishing with 94 and 81 yards, respectively. Coleman and Hickey each scored first-quarter touchdowns to give Carver an early 12-0 lead.

Derrell Hicks and Jawon Pass each scored rushing touchdowns in the third, and Pass hit Nate Barley for a touchdown through the air in the fourth. Pass finished with 230 yards through the air, 105 of which went to wide receiver Dreilon Freeman.

Carver plays next on Oct. 11 at Henry County.
