Suspect allegedly holds man at knifepoint for cell phone

Officers arrested a man who allegedly forced a Floyd Road resident into his apartment and demanded the victim's cell phone Sunday, according to a Columbus Police report.

The 40-year-old victim told police he was outside his apartment at about 3:30 p.m. when 41-year-old Jerry Hall pulled out a knife and demanded to enter the apartment. After making the victim go inside, he stole the man's $40 AT&T cell phone.

Hall was charged with armed robbery, burglary and disorderly conduct. He was the taken to Muscogee County Jail.

According to the jail website, he has also been charged with violation of probation and battery with physical visible harm.
