Charleston Southern adds 13th game at Colorado

The Sports NetworkOctober 1, 2013

Charleston, SC (SportsNetwork.com) - The NCAA granted Charleston Southern a waiver to play a 13th regular-season game on Oct. 19 at the University of Colorado.

The game comes as a result of Colorado canceling its game with Fresno State on Sept. 14 due to record rainfall and damaging floods in the Boulder area. Those schools didn't reach a deal for a makeup date.

Charleston Southern, which has a 5-0 record, will not have a bye week.

"Obviously, adding a game at this point in the season is a unique situation," Buccaneers coach Jamey Chadwell said. "It is a big opportunity for us, though. It's a chance for us to showcase Charleston Southern University and our football program against a Pac-12 school for the first time. Also, playing this type of game against a quality opponent like Colorado provides long-term benefits for our program."

The kickoff time will be determined once the Pac-12 Conference sets the television schedule for Oct. 19 next Monday.
