Sylvester Sherman has been charged with the murder of a Shiloh woman found in a shallow grave in Meriwether County last month, Sheriff Chuck Smith said Tuesday afternoon.

Sherman was the boyfriend of Annie Belle Jarrett and had been a suspect since her body was found Sept. 18. He is also charged with concealing a body and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

Jarrett's body was recovered two weeks from a shallow grave on property in rural Warm Springs where she and her boyfriend had stayed before she went missing. The property belongs to the family of the boyfriend, it has been previously reported.
