Prepare for the Oct. 4 Flash Night Run in the Chattahoochee Valley

The Flash Night Run, a glow experience with music, invades the Chattahoochee Valley tonight (Oct. 4). Here's everything you need to know about the event.

Start time, location and registration

This event will begin at Woodruff Park (Bay Avenue & 10th Street/along the RiverWalk). Action starts at 6 p.m. with children's activities and more. The Second Avenue Veterinarian Pink Pooch Contest will be held at 6:30 p.m. Cost is $15 per category on the day of event.

The 5K race begins at 8:30 p.m.

You can still register. Tonight's registration begins 6 p.m. at Woodruff Park. You'll pay $40 (per person) for teams of four or more and $45 for individuals. Price includes a T-shirt, glow accessories and more.

Are dogs allowed?

Yep. But as a matter of courtesy, organizers recommend standing at the back of the pack if you're running or walking with a dog.

Some facts about the race:

This is not a timed event, though there is a 90-minute time limit. Organizers encourage participants to stop and dance along the course. Runners and walkers are welcome. The event benefits West Central Georgia Cancer Coalition. The race begins at Woodruff Park and ends with a finish line party at the Phenix City Amphitheater.
