Reports: Driver attempts to hit officer with car

Police are looking for a man who allegedly tried to hit an officer with his car after police pulled him over for failure to wear a seat belt, according to a Columbus Police report.

Police approached John Sewell at about 2 p.m., after he was pulled over into a Circle K at 4420 Second Avenue for not wearing a seat belt. Sometime during the exchange, he allegedly attempted to hit the officer with his 2001 Dodge Ram.

Sewell was not arrested during the incident. He was described as a 32-year-old white man. The color of his vehicle was not listed.
