Tillman inactive for Bears-Giants tilt

The Sports NetworkOctober 10, 2013

Chicago, IL (SportsNetwork.com) - Chicago Bears cornerback Charles Tillman will not play in Thursday's game against the New York Giants due to a lingering knee injury.

Tillman, who was listed as questionable on Chicago's final injury report, has been battling knee and groin issues for much of the season but had yet to miss a game. The 11-year veteran is inactive for the first time since the 2009 regular-season finale.

Defensive tackle Stephen Paea (toe) will also sit out Thursday's clash, but outside linebacker Lance Briggs (foot/hip) is active. Both had also been questionable coming into the contest.

Tight end Martellus Bennett, who had been declared questionable as well with a knee injury, will play in the Week 6 matchup.
