Police say teen shot himself in head

Police in West Point, Ga., say a teen accidentally shot himself in the head Sunday.

In a report, police said the 18-year-old male was in his bedroom playing with a .22 caliber revolver when the gun went off.

Police were called to the scene at 11:51 a.m.

The wound was to the right temple. The teen was conscious and alert and was able to provide details to officers.

He was transported to Midtown Medical Center in Columbus. He was in stable condition.
