George Coulter

A 33-year-old man hanging around Words of Wisdom Church on 38th Street was searched and ultimately arrested for meth possession Tuesday night, according to a Columbus police report.

An officer was patrolling the area of 38th Street and 4th Avenue at about 5 p.m. when he noticed George Coulter, 33, leaning into a white vehicle at the church.

The officer performed an investigative stop on Coulter; in the process, he advised Coulter to place his left hand on the bed of a nearby Ford Ranger. As the suspect did so, the officer noticed something drop from his hand — which landed behind the rear left tire of the truck and revealed itself to be, upon inspection, a clear bag containing .9 grams of suspected methamphetamine.

Coulter was arrested and taken to the Muscogee County Jail.
