Man, 25, pistol whipped and robbed of $200

A 25-year-old Columbus man was pistol whipped and robbed of $200 during an attack on 48th Street late Friday, police said.

The man sustained cuts below his left eye, forehead and elbows during the armed robbery but refused treatment.

Police said the victim was robbed sometime between 9:30 p.m. Friday and 1:32 a.m. Saturday between 12th Avenue and 13th Avenue near his home. The robber confronted the man on the street, struck him with his fists and a pistol before taking $200 in cash.

Police have no suspect in the robbery which remains under investigation.
