Columbus man kicked, choked, robbed on Warm Springs Road

A 30-year-old Columbus man told police he was kicked, choked and robbed at the intersection of Warm Springs Road and Spring Circle.

According to the police report, the man suffered numerous injuries including broken ribs. He had bruises all over.

The crime occurred Saturday between 1 p.m. and 2 p.m.

Police talked to the man in the emergency room at St. Francis Hospital.

He told police he had just made a purchase at the Marathon gas station on Warm Springs Road and was walking to his sister's home when a black minivan stopped behind him. He said several black men got out and hit him repeatedly. He was kicked and choked.

The men then got back in the van and drove west on Warm Springs Road.

The thieves got away with an undetermined amount of money.

The victim said nobody passing by stopped to help him.

He made it to his sister's home and his nephew took him to the hospital.
