Columbus State hosts Montevallo for rematch

October 21, 2013

Columbus State is hoping to avenge an earlier loss to Montevallo when it hosts the Lady Falcons tonight in a Peach Belt Conference match at the Lumpkin Center at 7 p.m.

The Lady Cougars lost 3-2 at Montevallo on Sept. 17.

"I am excited to have a second shot at Montevallo," CSU coach Casey Cornett said in a press release.

"In the first match, I felt that as a young team we were still working out the kinks and trying to get to know each other on and off the court.

"Since then, we have improved greatly athletically and built up team chemistry. I hope it shows on the court."

CSU (15-7, 7-4) has won four straight, all in five sets, including victories over Georgia College and Georgia Regents this past weekend. The Lady Falcons are 15-6 and 8-4.

With a win, CSU could tie Montevallo for third in the PBC.
