The Waiting Game

Posted on October 21, 2013

I know it's a little late...ok, a lot late...Snakes fans. Can't believe I forgot to file a camp report. Am swamped with my preview section. More on that in a minute.

No additional cuts today, but it appears I need a math lesson. Blame it on Daniel Amesbury..haha. I think what happened was that I've counted Daniel on both D and at F. He's played both positions in camp and Jerome told me before camp that he would. So...

There will be THREE more cuts made, one at each position... one goalie, one d-man and one forward. They could come as early as tomorrow, but it may be as late as Wednesday. SO much talent in camp this year. These cuts are going to be tough for Jerome.

I hope you saw my Sunday story on the breast cancer fundraising efforts led by Wanda Amos along with the John B Amos Cancer Center and St Francis. Checks are still coming in, and the total raised is approaching $100,000. Amazing!! Kudos to Wanda, who has such a generous heart.

The last activity in the In It to End It campaign is the jersey auction on Saturday night. Dig deep and raise those prices to benefit those whose lives have been touched by breast cancer. How many of us can say our families haven't been hit? Mine certainly has. I'm blessed to have my sister and mother as bc survivors. How about you?

Finally, a note about the preview section. This year, for the first time, it will run over three days in print and on-line. Beginning Wednesday and running through Friday, there will be stories, stats, info and photos that you won't want to miss.

Saturday and Sunday you can read all about the Snakes' first two games. As I do with big road games, will even have quotes from Pensacola. No, I can't make the trip, but thanks to technology, I can talk to a couple players and get their thoughts about the game. :)

Get ready, Snakes fans. I have a feeling the 10th season is going to be the best yet!

       Stay tuned.
