Columbus State soccer falls to North Georgia

North Georgia scored three straight goals and held on to edge Columbus State 3-2 on Wednesday night at the Walden Complex.

The loss was the second straight loss for the Lady Cougars, who fell 3-0 to Clayton State on Sunday.

Jackie Hellett got CSU on the board first with her second goal of the season, just 14:13 into the game. The Lady Saints scored the next three goals, all in the second half.

Chelsea Person brought the Lady Cougars back to within a goal with her seventh of the season at the 81:46 mark.

CSU goalkeeper Meosha Hatcher had six saves, while North Georgia’s Mallory Sayre had five. CSU is now third at 6-2 in the PBC. Clayton State is on top at 7-0-2, followed by Lander at 7-1. North Georgia and Armstrong Atlantic are tied for fourth at 5-2-1.

CSU will play at Lander on Saturday.
