A woman was assaulted in front of four young children — ranging in ages from months-old to 7 — in the parking lot of the Macon Road Hibachi Grill, according to a Columbus police report.

The suspect allegedly attacked the victim in front of the restaurant, at 3201 Macon Rd., between 8-8:45 p.m. Tuesday.

The suspect's offenses include both aggravated assault and four counts of cruelty to children in the third degree, which is defined under the Georgia code as intentionally allowing someone under the age of 18 to witness the commission of a forcible felony or battery.

The victim was not injured; so far, there is no evidence to suggest family violence.

The case is under investigation.
