Jewelry chest, home security safe found open in Midland Road burglary

A 49-year-old Columbus woman told police that she returned home and found her jewelry chest, home security safe and dresser drawers open.

According the police report, the crime occurred at the home on Midland Court sometime between Thursday at 2 p.m. and midnight Saturday.

She told police that when she returned home a door on the east side of her home was unlocked but that she is sure she locked it. Police found no sign of forced entry.

It is believed the suspect removed a pillowcase from a pillow on her bed and filled it with the stolen items from her bedroom.

What was taken was not listed in the police report. The woman said it was many items.
