CSU golf: Men take sixth, women take fifth

ORLANDO, Fla. -- The Columbus State men's golf team took sixth place with an 874 at the McDonough Cup Tuesday.

Yannick Gumowski hit a 73 in the third round, giving him a total of 213 and putting him tied for sixth. Robert Mize hit a one-under 71 in round three to finish in eighth individually (214 total).

Other third-round scores for CSU were Jack Stumpfig's 73 (222 total, 48th), Bryan Lichimo's 82 (230 total, 70th) and D.J. Tozier's 80 (233 total, 75th).

The Cougars have finished their fall schedule and will return in the spring.

CONOVER, N.C. -- The Lady Cougars' golf team finished with a 621, good enough for fifth at the 2013 Rock Barn Invitational.

Courtney Lowery tied for 16th with a second-round 72 (151 total), Kaitie Cross tied for 25th with a 75 (154 total), Steph Charteris came in tied for 30th with a 76 (157 total), Ciera Bagley tied for 35th with a 74 (159 total) and Jodi Henley came in tied for 49th with a 81 (168 total).

Columbus State has finished its fall schedule and will return in the spring.
