Shaw 17, Fayette County 7: Raiders strong ground game, defense power win

FAYETTEVILLE, Ga. -- The Raiders used a strong rushing attack and solid defense to defeat Fayette County.

Hunter Eaton got Shaw on the scoreboard with a 30-yard field goal in the second quarter. Fayette County drove 55 yards just before half time and scored to make it 7-3 at the half.

David Whitehead had an interception the third quarter to set up Desmond Gomillia's 7-yard touchdown run.

Shaw scored again as the fourth quarter began when Tyron Huff hit Whitehead for a 50-yard touchdown pass.

Bernard Thomas had an interception for the Raiders to close out the game.
