ATHENS - Injured Georgia receiver Justin Scott-Wesley took to Twitter on Monday to address his arrest last week on marijuana possession.

Here is Scott-Wesley's statement, which appeared via two separate posts on his Twitter account (@J_Dubs86):

"I won't apologize. You deserve more then that. I will let my actions moving forward speak for me. I hope that u can respect me coming ..to you as a man as I admit that I was wrong. I let the #bulldognation down. I understand your frustrations. I will take my punishment as a man as I continue to get healthy. This is not an apology, but a promise. A promise to uphold the morals and character that my family and coaching staff have instilled In me. God bless!"

Scott-Wesley was arrested last Thursday on a misdemeanor charge of possession of less than one ounce of marijuana, and possession of a drug related object.

The redshirt sophomore is out for the rest of this season after tearing his ACL at Tennessee on Oct. 5. Prior to that he had emerged as one of the team's top receivers, catching 16 passes for 311 yards and two touchdowns, including the game-winning touchdown against LSU.

Head coach Mark Richt said in a statement Friday that Scott-Wesley would be disciplined "according to our policy." UGA has not officially confirmed it yet, but since Scott-Wesley is injured, a one-game suspension is expected to be served for next year's season opener against Clemson.
