Nina Street woman choked with belt

Officers are searching for a man who allegedly choked a woman with a belt Monday, according to a Columbus Police report.

The 25-year-old victim told police the suspect, who rooms with her at her 1700 block Nina Street address, wrapped the accessory around her neck at about 5:20 a.m. and began choking her. Officers noted the woman had bruising and redness on her neck.

The suspect, 25-year-old Nial Hammons, is wanted for family violence aggravated assault. Anyone with information should call the Investigative Division at (706) 653-3400.
