Veterans Day: Restaurants offer free meals, deals to military

Here's a roundup of some of the offers restaurants in the area are offering for military personnel. Remember, these deals require you to show proof of military service.

Applebee's is offering a free signature entree on Monday if you show a military ID. The deal is available from a limited menu during business hours, according to the restaurant's website.

Carrabba's Italian Grill is offering a free appetizer Friday through Monday, according to the restaurant manager. Click here for their store hours.

Chili's is offering Monday a free lunch combo during lunch or your choice of one of seven meals during dinner. Here are the meals the Columbus location is offering during dinner: Oldtimer with cheese, chicken crispers, margarita grilled chicken, classic turkey sandwich, lighter choice grilled chicken salad, soup and salad (not bottomless) and your choice of three flatbreads (in full size).

Denny's is offering free all-you-can-eat pancakes Monday to active, inactive and retired military personnel. The deal is available 6 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Golden Corral is offering Military Appreciation Monday 4-9 p.m. for the 13th straight year. Veterans and active-duty military get a free dinner buffet.

Hooter's is inviting all veterans and current servicemen and women to enjoy a free meal Monday, up to $10.99 in value with any drink purchase, by presenting a military ID or proof of service at any Hooters location across the country.

Krispy Kreme is offering a free donut and coffee Monday to all active-duty, retiree and veterans. Click here for more on the Columbus location.

Little Caesar's is offering free Crazy Bread for veterans and active-duty military. This offer has been confirmed with two locations in the Chattahoochee Valley, so make sure to contact your nearest Little Caesar's to confirm.

LongHorn Steakhouse is offering a free Texas Tonion and non-alcoholic beverage for veterans and current servicemen and women.

O'Charley's is offering a free entree from its $9.99 menu for active-duty military and veterans.

Olive Garden is offering a free entree from a select menu. All current military and their families can enjoy 10 percent off their tickets throughout the month of November.

Outback Steakhouse is offering a free Bloomin' Onion and a non-alcoholic beverage to veterans and active duty military. Military personnel and veterans can show their ID now through Dec. 31 and receive 10 percent off their meal.

Red Lobster will offer Monday through Thursday a free appetizer from a select list for those that show ID or proof of service.

Red Robin is offering a free Red's Tavern Double along with bottomless steak fries.

Texas Roadhouse is offering a free lunch for veterans and active duty military. You can choose from 10 entrees, plus a choice of any Coca-Cola product, sweet tea/ice tea or coffee. Lunch hours are 11 a.m.-2 p.m.

T.G.I. Friday's is also offering a free lunch. The official website says "veterans, your lunch is on us," but the deal is presumably open to veterans and military personnel. Hours are 11 a.m.-2 p.m.

Wingstop is offering on Monday one free six-piece boneless combo meal or three-piece chicken strip combo meal for all active duty or retired military personnel.
